ARTURO PEREZ

Arturo Perez invites you to actively participate in the dance, through movement, syncopation, and musicality. His emphasis is in maintaining connection with one’s partner thus allowing one to cross over disciplines while keeping the joy in social dance.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico Arturo began dancing at a very early age to Latin rhythms; his family then moved to New Orleans, where he was exposed to the music and dance of zydeco, cajun, blues, brass hop and swing genres. Currently his dance repertoire encompasses over 40 different types of dance techniques. He completed his MFA at Pratt

Institute in New York City.

He has performed with the Jitterbug Kids, Fusha Dance Company, The Harlem Swingers, George Gee’s Jump, Jivin’ Wailers and many other companies.
