ANNA GRIFFIN

Anna Griffin, a native Oregonian, has over 15 years of dance teaching experience. While in Oregon she studied Ballet with Ed Staver, Pilates with Lara London, and was a member of the Staver Ballroom/Latin Performance and Competition team. She furthered her studies at the University of Oregon, moving to New York City in 2004 to pursue her dream of a Professional dance career.

 

In New York, Anna has continued her dance training under the watchful eyes of Dawn Hillen, Antoinette Peloso, Kat Wildish, Luigi, and other lengends in dance. She is also trained in Hustle and Theatre Arts, Ballroom and Latin. She is a Certified Zena Rommett Floor Barre® Teacher. She is also a LMT. Anna has coached Ballroom Competitors for "Vild Mes Danse"-the Danish version of Dancing with the Stars. Her range of students include young students for Broadway shows, students who auditioned and were accepted into the Ailey and Martha Graham training programs, and Opera singers needing help with body awareness and alignment, and students rehabilitating from major surgeries.

 

In addition to teaching, Anna has also choreographed a photo shoot for "CR Fashion Book" Dance Issue, as well as being a Movement Specialist for Chanel's Fall 2013 Campaign.

 

Anna has performed in and around New York City, appearing in The Golden Jubilee Viennese Opera Ball, The Kat Wildish Performing in New York Experience, The Kennedy Dancers Co., The Stone Circle-an original work by Dawn Hillen, as well as local dance studios and clubs.

 

Anna brings an approach to teaching that is focused on technique and alignment, in a non-intimidating,and lighthearted setting. She uses all aspects of her training to tailor lessons for her students needs. Youare never the wrong age, or body type to dance. It's never too late to begin or continue wherever you left off!!

 

Anna's teaching will guide you to improved posture, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, and rhythm while safely having fun. Anna strives to inspire and challenge her students to reach a potentialbeyond their expectations.

Anna Griffin now is on staff at the Dance Center at 244 Rehearsal Studios teaching Zzena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 9:30-10:30am.
